OLPA Services

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

OLPA have 6 small registered care homes for adults with a learning disability and a specialist service for adults with a learning disability and dementia. The homes are ordinary houses owned by OLPA, in Wiltshire and provide a home for 3 – 4 people. Each home has a Registered Manager and a team of skilled and dedicated support workers. The team provide support 24 hours per day, 365 days per year ensuring support is always available. Staff provide support to make each home a homely place to live by involving the people we support in choices of décor, furniture and how they want the home to look. There is a maintenance schedule to ensure the homes are well maintained and meet all required safety standards. People are involved in all aspects of daily living. This includes menu planning, shopping, cleaning, gardening, choosing how to spend their time. Support is provided to access the community, this may be for attending appointments, leisure activities or visiting friends and family. Each home has access to a vehicle and public transport is utilised for those who wish to use it.

Each person we support has a support plan written with them which will say how the person wants to be supported, how this will be achieved and what to do if the person is unhappy and wants to change things. The staff encourage the people we support to be as independent as possible and this ranges from in house tasks to accessing the community. OLPA will support people to set goals and aim to assist in reaching their full potential. There are close links with professionals in the Learning Disability Team and we work closely together to provide a holistic package of care and support.

All OLPA Residential Services are inspected by CQC and all homes are currently rated Good.
